Presenter: As a Mission Canada urban worker and the Director of the Toronto Urban Missions Hub for the PAOC, I work to bridge the gap between the church and the city. My ministry is holistic and “messy”—it takes place where people struggle to find housing, food security, and dignity. I don’t just advocate for charity; I advocate for justice. Most recently, this has meant leading the emergency response for over 400 African refugees and asylum seekers, coordinating with local churches such as Dominion Church International to provide shelter when the city’s systems were overwhelmed. Whether organizing the “Our City Toronto” urban ministry conference to equip other leaders or sitting with the unhoused on a street corner, my goal is to be a “thought disturber,” challenging the status quo to dream of prophetic possibilities and catalyzing collective impact.
